Welcome to ACC! The
intramural staff hopes that you
will make your life at ACC an
active one by participating in
the many activities offered by
the intramural program. As you
are making new friends during
the first few days of school, why
not start organizing your intra
mural team now!
We have few regulations,
to the individual (both male and
female( who accumulates the
most intramural points over the
academic year.
PRESIDENT'S AWARD This
trophy shall be symbolice of the
ALL ROUND CAMPUS
CAMPUS CHAMPION. The tro
phy shall be awarded to the
individual male and female in
tramural participant who ac
cumulates the most points over
the academic year. Individuals
interested in competing for the
PRESIDENTIAL AWARD are
responsible for keeping their
own points. To be eligible for
the award, their points (total)
must be turned in to the IM
Office by the designated date.

CLUB
NEWS

The Science Club is going to
have a get together with the
faculty of the ‘Science Depart
ment on Wednesday, Sept
ember 10th. The meeting will
be held in the Science Building
in Room 105 at 7:00. Water
melon will be served at the
meeting. Present members and
anyone interested in joining the
Science Club is invited to
attend. (You don’t have to be a
science major to be a member.)
Come on out to meet the
faculty of the Science Depart
ment and to eat some water
melon. Hope to see you then.
however, all teams must provide
a team roster to the intramural
office by the deadlines that are
specified. When you submit
your team, an intramural hand
book will be presented to you.
This handbook will provide all
the important information con
cerning rules, awards, and
deadlines.
Plan now to participate in
SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD
This trophy shall be awarded to
the team (men and women) that
accumulates the most votes
during the academic year. Each
team manager will vote (upon
conclusion of each sport season)
for one team that he/she deems
worthy of such an honor. There
fore it is advantagous to keep
the same team name throughout
the year.
TEAM CHAMPION Plaque/
Trophy shall be awarded the
team that wins the play-off
tournament in each activity
(except co-ed).
T-SHIRTS shall be awarded to
the co-ed teams, individual/
dual sport champions upon con
clusion of the play-off tourna
ment.

Selected works from the North
Carolina Artists Competition
exhibit, the state art collection
of R. J. Reynolds Industries,
Inc., will be on public display at
the Hines Gallery of the Rocky
Mount Arts and Crafts Center,
Sept. 7-26.
A special opening for the
exhibition, the first of the fall
1980 season at the gallery, will
be Sunday, Sept. 7, from 3 to 7
p.m. Regular gallery hours are
8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday --
Friday.
The Rocky Mount exhibition
is the last scheduled showing of
work from the 139-piece RJR
collction, which has been on a
two-year regional tour.
R. J. Reynolds sponsored a
series of eight competitions for
state artists in cities across
North Carolina in 1977 to gen
erate are works for its conporate
headquarters.
Over 4,000 entries were re
ceived. making it the largest
juried art competition ever held
in the state. A panel of four
jurors selected works for the
purchase awards.
